Meridian
In TCM, meridians (also known as acupressure vessels) are energy pathways, a system or networking of invisible bodily energy (qi) channels that run and recharge the body’s energy fields. The meridians interconnect deep within the body core and there are specific acupressure points along the meridians. They can be envisioned as highways between the acupressure points in the body. qi, blood, yin & yang are transported using the meridians to nourish the entire body, thus ensuring good health of our organs and other parts of our body. Meridians are either yin or yang, depending on the direction they flow on the body’s surface. The yang meridians run from the the fingers to the face or from the face to the feet on the outer (yang) part of the body. yin meridians run from the feet to the torso or from the torso to the fingertips on the inner (yin) side of the body. If there’s a blockage or disrupted flow of qi & blood in the meridians, or an excessive or insufficient qi & blood in the meridians, we may fall sick as a result.
