Some interesting findings
As reported in The Sunday Times (22 July):
Obese Aussie kids taken from parents.
One of the heading said, “Experts split over root cause of obesity – poor parenting or genetics?”
– 60% of adults in Australia and almost a quater of children aged from two to 16 are overweight or obese.
– 91% of adults do not eat enough vegetables.
– families spend 27% of their weekly food budget on fast food and eating out.
One professor suggested that “A child cannot be forced to eat, and a child cannot accidentally get fat by eating junk food.
The child is driven to eat by hunger from the genetic defect”.
Is it really poor genetic or parenting issue?
